No Social Distancing In The Market: QC Bans Retail Selling In Balintawak
The market was packed with people and cars on Saturday, April 11.

Even with the enhanced community quarantine in place over Luzon, vendors and shoppers were seen in the Balintawak market area in Quezon City on Saturday, April 11. CNN Philippines reported that the Quezon City government responded with an order to stop retail selling in the Balintawak market.

According to the report, wholesale selling and drop-off will still be allowed in these affected markets: Cloverleaf, North Diversion, Riverview I, Riverview II, Pilson's, MC and Edsan Bagsakan. The retail stalls will be closed but vendors may sell their produce to different barangays via the "QC Fresh Market on Wheels" project. Retail shoppers will also be banned from entering Samson Road and EDSA, in front of the markets.
Some areas in Quezon City are currently under extreme enhanced community quarantine, following the rising recorded number of COVID-19 cases.Â
