Strawberries are already irresistible as is when paired with evaporated milk or condensed milk, but what if there's a cake version that's just as tart, creamy, milky, and light? Well, look no further than this gorgeous strawberry tres leches cake.
Bellefleur is expanding its dessert menu by adding the Strawberry Tres Leches cake (P1,500). According to Bellefleur owner Bea Atienza, "It's still in line with our company's baking style, [where] we always choose something local to feature." This season, Bellefleur is putting the spotlight on Baguio's luscious, juicy strawberries.
This tres leches cake isn't your typical, run-of-the-mill creamy dessert with a pool of milk on the bottom. Bellefleur adds a layer of leche flan as its foundation, followed by a vanilla chiffon cake, then a strawberry cream mousse, and topped with beautifully-arranged fresh Baguio strawberries. This milky, creamy, and light dessert is held together by the tres leches sauce-soaked ladyfingers embracing the sides of the cake.
Bea created the Strawberry Tres Leches especially for Valentine's Day, but like the Strawberry Misu, she is crossing her fingers that they can keep the tres leches cake on the menu beyond February 14 and for as long as possible.
