Coffee is a crucial part of anyone's day, be it on a Monday when you need a shove to start the work week, a Wednesday to fight the midweek hump, or even on a Friday when you need to finish all your deadlines so you can finally #TGIF. So what about drinking cups of joe during the weekend? For the serious coffee fans who are of Lorelai Gilmore levels (Google it, Gen Z!) who take their cups of coffee religiously, we say troop over to the BGC Coffee Festival happening this weekend, March 18 to 19!

What To Expect At The BGC Coffee Festival 2023:

The second BGC Coffee Festival is happening this weekend, March 18 to 19, which is months earlier than last year's festival. Definitely save the date if you're a coffee fan as they've got a ton in store-including several coffee concessionaires at the fair, live music and live art, and a tattoo pop-up! You can drop by between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Come thirsty (for knowledge) as people from the coffee community will be giving talks about the drink and its surrounding culture at the event.

If you're the type of coffee drinker who loves to go on hikes or visit the beach, there's an Outdoor Brewing Demo led by Alex Aranzanso of Ten-Four Coffee by Overlandkings happening on March 18. It's bound to be useful for your out-of-town-trips this summer! You can also opt to attend the Growing Coffee Culture talk session that happens on the same day. Its speakers are bigwigs in the industry, namely Calibre Magazine Editor-in-Chief Carl Cunan, El Kapitan Coffee Owner and Operator Raymond So, and Coffee Commune Chief Extractor Rosario Juan.

As for the arts portion of the festival, there will be art pieces displayed by the Baraks collective and a Freedom Cup installation. If you want to put the art on your body, there's a tattoo pop-up by Crimson River Tattoo for those longing to get inked. And for the live music, you can jam to performances by Pedicab, Party Pace, The Espasouls, The Buzzer Beaters, The Diegos, and DJ Honey.

The biking community is tight-knit with coffee as they've greatly contributed to the booming coffee scene after all. Definitely drop by if you're into either or both. The BGC Coffee Festival will have different sports merchants, like R.O.X. and adidas to name a few, for all your biking needs.

If anything, we would recommend bringing an antacid to avoid any palpitations. With all the cups of joe you're going to consume, it's best to be prepared. We'll see you there, coffee heads.
