K-Pop Fans Set Up Community Pantries In The Name of BTS and EXO

"We give free rice."

K-pop fans of BTS and EXO have set up community pantries in Malabon and Cavite to share their love for the South Korean bands and help their fellow Filipino during the pandemic.

In a news report from GMA News Online, this community pantry located in Barangay Maysilo in Malabon City was started by a fan of the band EXO. Kristine Santos started the community pantry showcasing bags of rice and other food with photos and posters of the K-pop group members. She said in the interview that she started the pantry to help her fellow Filipinos and share her love for the K-pop group EXO.

Meanwhile, in Cavite, CNN Philippines reports that BTS fans, also known as ARMY, from the ARMY Cavite Fanbase started not just one but two BTS Army Community Pantries in the area. The fans of the South Korean boy band offer free rice and vegetables in the pantries started in Windward Hills and Manuelaville Subdivisions in Cavite. According to its Twitter account, the BTS fan base not only started a community pantry but has also donated essentials, including hygiene kits, to evacuation centers.

The community pantries offer essentials such as rice, vegetables, canned food, and instant noodles for those in need.

For those interested in donating essentials to the community pantries, donations in kind are being accepted at the Maysilo Health Clinic in Malabon. You may also donate financially to the two community pantries through these accounts:
