This New Milk Tea Shop Will Make You Feel Like You're Entering A Comic Book
No need to fly all the way to Seoul just to visit their W: Two Worlds-inspired comic book cafe. In case you haven't noticed, a handful of similarly designed local shops are slowly but surely popping up across the country to give us the same 2D experience. You've probably already heard of the Kurimi Milk Tea Bar in Quezon City. This time around, get ready for Bulacan's very own Komiks 2D Art Cafe!
Just as the name suggests, stepping into this newly opened milk tea shop will have you feeling like a character in a comic book strip. Instead of the usual black-and-white coating that most of these trendy cafes typically go for, this particular shop is painted in predominantly green shades that will surely remind you of the local comics you used to read in your youth.

Having opened last March 12, the Komiks 2D Art Cafe was painted by the same artist that worked on Kurimi Milk Tear Bar, Ralph Pangilinan. The 25-year-old visual artist rendered the shop in floor-to-ceiling comic strip murals to create the desired optical illusion of immersing oneself in a 2D fictional world. Even the furniture blends in perfectly!

When asked about his design in an interview with Philippine Star, Ralph said he wanted to showcase Filipino artistry by means of his signature mural art.

The cafe sells a variety of milk tea flavors, including classics we all know and love such Wintermelon, Okinawa, and Taro, as well as their more distinct Signature Series, like White Rabbit, Salted Caramel, and their Komiks Signature milk tea drink. Alternatively, they also have a selection of Matcha and Cheesecake Series, Fruit Teas, Iced Coffees, and Frappuccinos if any of that is more your speed.

Komiks 2D Art Cafe is located in JUMPH Building, Caltex - Tungkong Mangga in front of SM San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
