Whenever someone goes to Bacolod, it is without fail that someone will ask to bring back a box of delicious napoleones for pasalubong. This sweet puff pastry, similar to a mille-feuille, is not as common in Metro Manila, but, thankfully, there are hidden cafes and home bakers in the city that make it easier to satisfy our napoleones cravings without having to fly all the way to Negros.

From the same cafe and bakery that brought us ube and cheese pandesal, Bungalow Café & Bakery has now added napoleones (P85/piece pastry) to their pastry selection. Heavier and bigger than the usual napoleones that you can get from Bacolod, Bungalow Café & Bakery’s version has layers upon layers of crunchy croissant-like sheets, with a semi-sweet custard in the middle, with a generous sugary glaze on top.

A fair warning: Bungalow Café & Bakery’s napoleones runs out quickly. Make sure to come early or reserve your pastries by calling their number: 8282-4546
