Now that it’s Lenten season, you can expect more seafood dishes from your favorite restaurants! If you’re looking for a place that serves delicious meatless dishes while abstaining from meat, Conti’s Bakeshop & Restaurant recently added these healthy bowls to their menu: Soy Ginger Shrimp Adlai, Scallop Adlai Risotto, Garlic Squid Adlai, Ensalada, and Squid Salad.
Three of the new dishes use Adlai grains as the substitute for rice which is considered a healthier alternative to rice as it has a lower glycemic index. The Soy Ginger Shrimp Adlai (P335) uses the Adlai “rice” and tops it shrimps coated in soy-ginger dressing; the Garlic Squid Adlai (P325) tops the mountain of Adlai with squid that has been sauteed in olive oil, garlic, parsley, and cherry tomatoes; and the Scallop Adlai Risotto (P360) that turns the Adlai into a creamy risotto and serves it with scallops and umami-packed ingredients like shiitake and button mushrooms.
For those who are looking for a lighter meal, the Squid Salad (P195) has fresh greens tossed with crispy squid, cherry tomatoes, alfalfa sprouts, and a soy-ginger vinaigrette. As for the Ensalada (P155), this is a medley of crisp mustard leaves, cherry tomatoes, green papaya, white radish, salted egg, and pili nuts from Bicol. It’s then tossed with a shrimp vinaigrette.
