These Twix-Inspired Dessert Bars Are Made With A Thick Layer Of Yema In The Center
Twix gets a Filipino twist!
Yema, the egg yolk-based custard, is a staple when it comes to Pinoy desserts. We recently rounded up all kinds of desserts topped or stuffed with yema if you just can't get enough of the warm, caramel-like custard. Here's something to add to the list if you're on the lookout for more: Local bakeshop CWEET's Yema Twix Bars!
Inspired by Mars, Inc's famous Twix candy bar, this treat features a buttery shortbread base underneath with a rich, chocolate top and a light sprinkling of sea salt to complement the flavors. And of course, the star of the show is the thick layer of ooey-gooey yema in the middle of the bar that brings it all together. Think of it like a famous chocolate bar with a Filipino twist!
You can order a box of four bars for P295 or two boxes (for a total of eight bars) for P580!
