This Chocolate Milk Is A Famous Pasalubong You Can Buy In Los Baños
If you love milk, you need to try the famous milk from this dairy farm all the way in Los Baños, Laguna.
If you go there for the hot springs for the weekend, you'll be surprised to know that one of the best things you can buy for pasalubong is a bottle of carabao milk. Another surprise is that you can find it at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) campus, made by the Dairy Training and Research Institute (DTRI).
These dairy products by DTRI are called Farm Fresh which includes fresh carabao milk, chocolate milk (the bestseller!), coffee milk, plain yogurt, flavored yogurt, and pastillas de leche. They even have cheese that went viral earlier this year. From originally offering only kesong puti and mozzarella cheese, they expanded to offering brie, blue, gouda, cheddar, and spicy cheese.
The most raved-about item from these DTRI products is the Choco Milk which, after trying it out for ourselves, really lives up to its hype! The milk is a tinge creamier and heavier than the milk you commonly find in supermarkets, so a glass or two can already make you feel full.
Another thing we love about their chocolate milk is that the chocolaty flavor of the drink is just right. You can taste more of the milkiness than the chocolate. This also applies to their Coffee Milk-it's more milk than it is coffee.
Because DTRI's dairy products are fresh and have no preservatives, this also means they have a shorter shelf life. According to DTRI's storage guide, it is recommended for the milk to be consumed within two days after opening and the yogurt should be consumed within five days after opening.
Here's how much DTRI's Farm Fresh dairy products cost:
To place an order, DTRI Farm Fresh posts on their Facebook page the order form every Saturday (10 A.M.) to Sunday (8 P.M.). The items will be delivered on a Thursday of the following week.
