Say Hello To Eng Bee Ting’s New Tikoy For The Chinese New Year

Best if you have a sweet tooth!

Chinese New Year is just two weeks away and if you join in on the traditions associated with it, you know you should always have tikoy. This sticky, sweet rice cake is believed to symbolize unity and togetherness, hence its sticky consistency and that this Chinese delicacy also attracts luck for the coming year.

Eng Bee Tin is one of the more popular places to buy tikoy. They have it all year round and offer it in different flavors like Plain (regular and sugar-free), Ube (regular and sugar-free), Pandan, Brown, Strawberry, Sweet Corn, Red Bean, and last year they came out with Cheese Tikoy before Chinese New Year. This 2021, their limited-edition tikoy is the Dulce de Leche Tikoy.

We tried the Dulce de Leche tikoy and we can say that it smells a lot like milk and has a milky taste, too! We dipped the tikoy slices in whisked egg then pan-fried it until the egg coating turned a golden brown color.

Eng Bee Tin’s Dulce de Leche Tikoy is available at their kiosks for only P280 per box. As of writing, these are not yet available via Ube Delivery and Eng Bee Tin’s Lazada and Shopee stores.
