Before anything, let's distinguish what FamilyMart Express is! This type of FamilyMart store has a 45 to 100 square meter space. Since space is quite limited, FamilyMart Express stores are more buy-and-go stores with a small dine-in capacity or none at all.

How much to franchise FamilyMart Express:

The estimated capital investment ranges from P1.73 to P2 million.

This includes the cost of equipment such as the rice cooker, fryer, freezer, coffee machine, chiller, POS system, showcase hot and showcase cold, siopao steamer, gondola display, and more. It also includes the structural fees, which include the cost of construction, signages, and mechanical works; and lastly the franchise fees which include the upfront franchise fee of P100,000 (+ VAT) and project management fees.

Do take note that these fees do not include the following: The estimated capital investment does not cover the monthly utility fees, nor does it cover the cost of ordering the items to be sold at the convenience store.

A "book" is provided by the company where you can order the items you want to sell in your own FamilyMart convenience store. According to Aristeo Ojerio of FamilyMart, franchisers are also welcome to sell local items that are known in the city or province. For example, Cebu-based FamilyMart Express stores can sell dried mangoes or lechon.

Here are the FamilyMart franchise requirements as well as the steps to the application process:

  • 1 Firstly, there's the introduction meeting.
  • 2 You also need to fill up an application form.
  • 3 Go through a site assessment and approval.
  • 4 Submit required documents, such as DTI, SEC, COR, and business permits.
  • 5 Payment of upfront fees (franchise fee + project management fee).
  • 6 Lastly, there's the preparation and signing of the memorandum of agreement.
