Feeling Fancy? Try This Creamy Mushroom Pancit Canton Hack
You only need a few ingredients!
While carefully crafted meals made from scratch are always a pleasant treat to have at home, some days you just don't have the energy to make them. But that doesn't mean you need to settle for flavorless meals. Here's something tasty (and fairly fancy) you can whip up in just a few minutes: Local blogger Ninong Ry's Creamy Mushroom Pancit Canton!
In a video posted to his Instagram page, Ninong Ry showed how you can make this cool twist on the popular instant noodles. You only need a few ingredients and you can do the entire procedure in just one pan. The result resembles a simple mushroom carbonara, but with pancit noodles and a distinctly Pinoy flavor.
Here's what you'll need:
- Two Packs of Pancit Canton
- Two Eggs
- Knorr Seasoning
Start cooking your two packs of Pancit Canton in a pot or pan of boiling water as you normally would. In this case, Ninong Ry uses the plain variation, but feel free to use your favorite kind. Take caution not to add too much water as you won't be straining the noodles in this recipe.
While your noodles are just slightly cooked, add the powder and oils that come with the packet into the boiling water. Give it a good stir.
Add mushrooms of your choice. Ninong Ry adds two kinds.
Crack two eggs into the mixture and stir everything together. By now, you should notice the water has reduced significantly.
Add Knorr seasoning for extra flavor.
Add butter and toss everything together until the butter melts and the mixture is creamy.
Transfer your creamy pancit mixture onto a plate.
Feel free to top with any seasonings of your choice like pepper, cayenne, or chili powder.
Serve and enjoy!
