This Al Fresco Café In Tagaytay Sells Delicious Rum Cake
Flour Pot Rum Cakes Manila is now serving cakes in Tagaytay.
Flour Pot Rum Cakes Manila started with just one cake. Their rum cake was the banner product: perfectly moist with the flavor of rum complementing each buttery bite. Rhea Sycip ran the business from home as she kept her day job and added more cakes to Flour Pot's lineup: chocolate tableya cake, tres leches cake, and quezo de bola ensaymada as well as seasonal cakes and pastries eventually made it to her menu.
"I started Flour Pot Rum Cakes Manila three years ago because I wanted to introduce premium local ingredients through the cakes that I make," Sycip said in a Facebook post.
When the pandemic and the quarantine started, Flour Pot, like all other home-based food businesses, continued to sell using social media. But towards the end of 2020, an opportunity to have a cafe in Tagaytay opened up. Sycip first stepped into the Inn at The Cliffhouse 14 years ago, loved it, and even got married there. Now, she just opened her first café at The Cliffhouse.
You can find the rum cake, plus all the pastries and cakes currently on the Flour Pot Rum Cakes Manila menu.
Flour Pot Rum Cakes Al Fresco Café is at The Inn at The Cliffhouse, Tagaytay. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
