Filipino food will be big in 2017, says Bloomberg

According to Bloomberg, "your next coolest meal might be a Filipino specialty."

In an article, "Eleven Fancy Food Trends You'll Face in 2017" on Bloomberg, Filipino food is cited as one of the new year's biggest food trends. This comes with little surprise: In 2016, the purple yam became a trendy ingredient used in 100-dollar donuts, soft-serve ice cream, and Instagram-worthy desserts. Bad Saint in Washington D.C.—which serves Filipino fare such as okoy—was hailed as the #2 best restaurant in America, thanks to Filipino-American chef Tom Cunanan.
