March 21 Is The One Night You Should Plan To Dine Out This Week
Mark your calendars! It's going to be the biggest dinner celebrating French food.

The fourth annual and global celebration of French food called Goût de France or Good France is happening this Wednesday night, March 21, 2018. Started in 2015 to celebrate French food and organized by the embassies of France around the world, 18 chefs and their restaurants were selected from around the Philippines, including one from Bukidnon and another in Cebu City, to join in the dinner event this year. The chefs and their restaurants are among the 3,000 others participating in this event worldwide.Â
Â
This is going to be a night of sharing delicious French food that is to be the ultimate "Epicurean dinner", a concept of Auguste Escoffier, the father of modern French cuisine, that means "to serve the same menu, on the same day, in several cities, for as many guests as possible."Â
Â
French dishes such as this lamb rack from Samira will be showcased this night.
Â
The menu at each of these restaurants will be a celebration of French cuisine. Meals on various menus include dishes such as Roasted Pork Confit with Fresh Mangoes and Mixed Purees by Michel Herbert from Bistro D'Agathe, Foie Gras with Forest Mushroom in Filo, Golden Calvados Apple and Port Wine Jus from Chef Martin Kaspar from l'entrecôte Corner Bistro, and Adlai (Job's Tears) Risotto with Wild Mushrooms, topped with Pan-Seared Flounder and Beurre Blanc by Chef Kevin Endaya of Lemuria will be available on the special one-night only dinner.
Â
Soufflés, a classic French dessert, will be the standout dessert this night. You can have a choice between a Demitasse of Grand Marnier Soufflé by Chef Jessie Sincioco of Chef Jessie Rockwell or the Valrhona Guanaja Soufflé of Chef Michael Aspiras of Le Petit Soufflé.Â
