These Are Must-Visit Starbucks Stores In Japan

When in Japan, there are so many coffee shops you can visit. Even if we already have Starbucks in the Philippines, you still should definitely visit Starbucks Japan stores for their unique seasonal offerings. If you're there during cherry blossom season, you should watch out for their popular cherry blossom merchandise, too.
Here we list down the most Instagrammable Starbucks stores in Japan:
Starbucks Shibuya Crossing
We're starting off the list with one of the most famous Starbucks stores in the world. This Starbucks is popular amongst tourists and locals because of its location: it's within a Shibuya Tsutaya video rental store and the second floor of the building offers an unobstructed bird's eye view of the busy Shibuya scramble crossing.
Starbucks Hana Biyori
One of the new Starbucks stores that opened in Japan in 2020 was in Hana Biyori, which is right inside the Yomiuriland amusement park. This store particularly became insta-famous because it was set inside a greenhouse, so you can enjoy your cup of coffee being surrounded by flowers, hanging plants, and you can even sit on the communal table that has an 8-meter-long aquarium.
Starbucks Kawagoe
If you want to see a modern version of Japan's traditional house, head over to the Starbucks branch in Kawagoe (also called the Little Tokyo or Little Edo). The best part about this store is the Japanese garden at the back of the shop, where you can sit and soak up some sunshine and enjoy the fresh air.
Starbucks Kyoto Ninenzaka Yasaka Chaya
This Starbucks store is located in a traditional Japanese house that seamlessly blends with the other traditional houses in the vicinity, and is also right beside the Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a popular tourist spot and world heritage site. This store has a large wall from the Taisho era, a noren shop curtain, a corridor that looks like a passage garden found in traditional Kyoto houses, a moss garden, and a second floor where you can sit and relax on the tatami mats.

Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo
Back in 2019, the Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo was the world's largest Starbucks. When the Chicago Roastery opened, it was no longer the largest but it's still a good place to visit. This Reserve store has a wider selection of drinks and pastries, from gourmet coffee, tea, to baked goodies. They even have a cocktail bar featuring tea- and coffee-infused cocktails!
