Grab Philippines Reveals The Most Ordered Ulam On GrabFood This Year

Grab Philippines has released this year's delivery trends, specifically for their GrabFood and GrabMart services. If you often use these Grab services, once or over a hundred times, you might be able to relate to some of their findings!
Here's what Grab Philippines' delivery trend report reveals about the year 2022:
1. People still order for delivery.Â

According to Grab's report, people are still opting for deliveries because of their convenience. The report mentions that 7 in 10 consumers say that deliveries are engrained in their day-to-day life, adding that 1 in 3 is subscribed to a delivery plan.
2. The more often people order deliveries, the more items are added to the cart.Â

Not only are people ordering frequently, but people are also just ordering more-specifically 84% more often on GrabFood and GrabMart. "Young families with children are the most avid users, ordering food delivery at least 5 times per month, and groceries at least 7 times per month."Â
3. People still look to satisfy their food cravings.Â

Grab says that people rarely know what they want to order when they're on the app and that they spend about 17 minutes just mindlessly scrolling, thinking of what to order. And through their browsing, 88% of Grab's respondents found new merchants.
4. People do more than just order food online.Â

Grab says that "9 in 10 read reviews and pre-purchase vouchers online, 8 in 10 make reservations and buy takeaway online, and 7 in 10 make dine-in orders and payments online."Â
5. People like their food to be customized.Â

Grab's study shows that consumers prefer ordering from food merchants that offer customization, which often, if not always, comes with additional fees. It can be said that consumers are willing to pay an increase, be it 15% more as Grab reports, so as long as the dish is customized to one's liking.
6. Healthier, plant-based meals are ordered more often.Â

Consumers order a healthy meal at least once every two to 3 days, and "almost 2 out of 5 consumers tried plant-based alternatives in the last 6 months." According to Grab, orders for such meals grew significantly this year and the same goes for GrabMart during their health and wellness sales.
 7. People order merienda and other snacks as a group.

Since more people are going back to the office (not to mention going back to school!), people tend to order snacks or merienda for the entire group. According to Grab, "over 74% of Filipino consumers said they tend to order snacks for more than one person each time."
8. People love ordering certain food on GrabFood and GrabMart.Â
Grab's findings conclude that fried chicken is the most ordered item on GrabFood, with close to 55,000 fried chicken orders made every day. Consumers also ordered halo-halo by 80% more compared to last year's halo-halo consumption-which, if we're being honest, makes sense because of this year's heat and humidity.

For GrabMart, instant food, such as instant noodles and canned goods, and dairy products, such as milk, cultured milk, evaporated milk, and cream were the common grocery items ordered via GrabMart. People also ordered more carbonated drinks, 50% more than last year's.
