Grocery Find: This Bottle Has Most of the Things You Need for Halo-Halo!

Just add shaved ice and milk.

We know you’ve had one of those moments: all of a sudden, you want halo-halo—this messy and delightful mountain of shaved ice, fruits and beans. Some people likes theirs homemade and if you’re one of them, you don’t need to get several bottles of kaong (sugar palm jelly) and beans just for one serving.

We found a bottle with mixed fruits and beans in the grocery: it has layers of white beans, kaong, banana slices, and ripe jackfruit good enough for two halo-halo servings. Scoop them out, build your own halo-halo, and save the leftover ingredients for a second serving (the label says you can store for a few months).

Florence Mixed Fruits and Beans is available at SM Supermarket.
