The Biggest Healthy Options Store Has A Bakery That Sells Keto Bread, Pastries + More

Step inside the Uptown BGC branch of Healthy Options and you'll be surprised to see a small bakery and café welcoming you near the entrance. Welcome to Baking Therapy, Healthy Options' bakery which offers a selection of keto bread, low-sugar pastries, and gluten-free bread.
"I love bread," admits Healthy Options partner Romy Sia. "Having a bakery is actually my dream! I want to teach people how to enjoy hard, crusty bread, European bread. But how do we make it different? We're going to offer healthier options," Sia shares. The small space is inspired by European cafes. If, by chance, you find yourself there in the morning when the breads are delivered, you'll find that the delicious smell of freshly baked bread in the morning is both heady and welcoming.

Baking Therapy just opened in September 2019 but it attracts a mix of the food-curious and those looking for "healthier options." And if you're just looking for an alternative space to hang out while at the mall, the selection won't disappoint.

Croissants are the obvious crowd-pleaser, Sia shares, but the keto bread and the pastries are equally popular, too. You will find baguettes and sourdough bread waiting for you but Baking Therapy's in-house French pastry chef likes to experiment so expect to see seasonal offerings from time to time. There's currently pumpkin pie and pumpkin quiche on the menu!

Coffee draws in people, too but Baking Therapy also serves your favorite Republic of Tea flavors. "We use ingredients you can find in the stores," Sia adds.
Sia, who helped open the one-stop shop for everything all-natural and good-for-you in 1995, shares that Healthy Options takes your health concerns to heart and this extends to the bakery. The bread and the pastries are made at their commissary in Libis, Quezon City, with separate baking areas and teams for regular bread and pastries and for gluten-free products. This ensures zero cross-contamination and that ingredients meant for regular pastries are not mixed with the ones for gluten-free items. "People come to us with allergies, 'gluten-free' is not just a lifestyle. For some people, gluten is a deadly allergen."
The gluten-free products are also sent to an independent testing company to make sure the products are indeed gluten-free.
"This is our first bakery and we want people to have the full [Healthy Options] experience."Â
