Chefs these days are getting more creative than ever—are you even surprised that soy sauce-flavored ice cream exists? Over at Hibana, one of Makati’s newest Japanese-themed restuarants, Chef Mark Tan is churning out exciting desserts.

Gone are the days when desserts were all about sugar, sugar, and sugar. Incorporating a touch of salty and savory flavors is how the game is played now, and Hibana’s soy sauce ice cream does exactly that! It doesn’t stop there—go ahead and try their Japanese Queso, a squid sauce-flavored ice cream that has the same savory notes as Parmesan cheese does.

Hibana is located at The Grand Midori, Bolaños St., Makati City.
