Netizens React To Hizon's Cakes & Pastries' Store Closure Announcement Because Of The Inauguration
Do you know how to read between the lines?
June 30 is the inauguration of incoming President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. at the National Museum of the Philippines in Manila. With this, the Metro Manila Police District issued a public advisory that roads will be closed from June 26 until June 30, namely Padre Burgos Avenue, Finance Road, Maria Orosa Street (from Kalaw Avenue to Padre Burgos Avenue), and General Lune Street (from padre Burgos Avenue to Muralla Street).
Businesses that will be affected by the road closures will have to adjust their operations for the day, and in one such case, Hizon's Cakes and Pastries announced they are closing their shop on June 30.
In a now-deleted Facebook post (but it's still up on their Instagram account!) by Hizon's Cakes and Pastries, it says "We will be closed on June 30 due to the road closures imposed by this incoming government." The Facebook post has the caption "To all our Valued Customers: For June 30, 2022 only," while the Instagram post has no caption at all.
Netizens have taken it upon themselves to decipher what the statement meant. Some understood it as a straightforward statement, while some found it shady.
