How should you pronounce Nutella?

Everyone knows Nutella. We know that it's a hazelnut-cocoa spread that comes in a recognizable bottle with a white lid, and a white sticker with the word "nutella" printed on the front. We all know how it's a great and versatile spread that goes beyond spreading it on toasted bread.

But one thing you may not know about Nutella is how to pronounce it correctly. It's not pronounced nuh-tella!

In a report on Delish, James Stewart, the Marketing Director for Nutella, Ferrero United Kingdom & Ireland, says that there should be an emphasis on the "nu" in Nutella.

The correct way to pronounce Nutella is NOU-tella or /noo·teh·luh/

Stewart says in the report, "As Nutella is enjoyed in every corner of the world, there has long been some fun debates on how it should be pronounced. Our Nutella team wanted to share how we pronounce the iconic spread's name. We emphasize the 'NOU' in 'NOU-tella', but we don't mind how our fans decide to pronounce it - the most important thing to us is that you enjoy it!"

We couldn't agree more! Just as long as we all enjoy Nutella, then there shouldn't be any problem mispronouncing it. It's just an interesting nugget of information you ought to know!
