When one travels to the beautiful island of Cebu, one cannot miss out on eating juicy lechon dipped in spicy suka. But being a province surrounded by water, no one should pass up the opportunity to indulge in fresh seafood dishes, too. If you want to try it out minus spending for a plane ticket, you can enjoy a seafood buffet or the Paluto-All-You-Can at Isla Sugbu.
Isla Sugbu, a famous restaurant in Cebu, finally opened a branch in Manila and it serves all your favorite seafood dishes. The bestsellers in Isla Sugbu's Paluto-All-You-Can include shrimp, scallops, and squid, but the selection also includes dalagang bukid, pampano, boneless bangus, lapu-lapu, and tanigue.
The seafood can be cooked in a number of ways depending on how you like your dishes: you may have it stir fried, grilled, or steamed. You can even coat it in salted egg or black pepper sauce, if that's what your heart wants. You may also have the shrimp fried with butter and garlic, turn the scallops into a cheesy baked dish, cook squid into calamares, and use salmon belly to make sinigang.
What's so sulit about this buffet is that it also includes chicken, pork, rice, and vegetables (which you can mix in with your seafood dish)! There are also other kinds of seafood that aren't included in the buffet, like the live crabs and lobster.
Isla Sugbu's Paluto-All-You-Can is available every day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunchtime and reopens from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. for the dinner crowd. The buffet costs P848/person every lunchtime from Mondays to Thursdays, but for Friday to Sunday, it will cost P888/person. Do take note that these prices are exclusive of service charge.
Isla Sugbu is located at 2F of Venice Grand Canal Mall, Garden Villas, 1630 Upper McKinley Road McKinley Hill, Cluster B, Taguig City.
