These Piayas Are Stuffed With Salty-Sweet Longganisa
Try this savory piaya for a change.
Piayas are one of the more famous delicacies Pinoys enjoy for merienda. They're made with an unleavened flatbread commonly stuffed with a rich and gooey muscovado filling, and best eaten warm and paired with a cup of brewed coffee (the more bitter, the more it will complement the piaya). But for those who don't have a sweet tooth, there's a version of piaya with a more savory, garlicky filling. Introducing SARSA's Longganisa Piaya!
SARSA's Longganisa Piaya (P480/8 pieces) is stuffed with Tuguegarao longganisa, which is a recado longganisa known for its strong garlicky, herby notes as compared to the hamonada longganisa that is known for its sweetness. This unusually thick Longganisa Piaya is served with a special batwan sambal sauce you can dip the piaya with before taking a bite.
The Longganisa Piaya is part of SARSA's special menu. The other items on the menu are the Cadelerapanada (P750/8 pieces) that is served with a spicy tomato sauce, Kansipanada (P750/8 pieces) which comes with batwan gravy, and the Sarsa-Q Chickenpanada (P730) with a side of atchara sinamak. If you would rather have a rice meal than merienda, there's also a Beef Pares "Machang" (P740)  which is a special beef pares dish made from smoked tendon and served with sticky rice (machang).
