Malagos Chocolates from Davao Wins Its 19th International Food Award!
It's the Oscars awards season for food and drinks!
The Great Taste, which is organized by the Guild of Fine Food, is the acknowledged benchmark for fine food and drinks. They release a list of awards every year and is considered as the Oscars of the food industry.
Malagos Chocolate, which is a tree-to-bar chocolate company who sources their cacao from Davao, won a total of four awards at this year’s prestigious Great Taste Awards—making it their 19th international award to date, with previous awards given by the Academy of Chocolate.
In this year’s Great Taste, Malagos won under the categories of hot drink and bar category. The Malagos 100% Pure Unsweetened Chocolate was awarded two stars under the hot drink category. Only two companies were awarded and Malagos was one of them.
One might think it would be easy to bag an award, but it is was only after 65 days of judging that about a fourth of the 12,634 food products that applied, were awarded this year. That’s why to be awarded as such, you would know by the Great Taste logo, that a certain product is truly topnotch.
