Maxi Mango’s New Dessert Is Sweet, Milky, Fruity, And Has Sinkers!

It’s like drinking milk tea and eating fruit salad at the same time.

Maxi Mango started out as a stall in bazaars that offered a deconstructed mango float in a cup. It had a mango-flavored soft serve, cubes of mango, and crushed graham–it was simple and a can-do-no-wrong kind of dessert. There came a time it became the talk of the town that people lined up for more than four hours just to taste their mango float.

Fast forward to June 2019, they have grown their mango float empire to 43 branches nationwide and with a new mango-dessert on their menu: Mango Tapioca (P65/bottle).

The Mango Tapioca (P65) is made with fresh milk, red nata de coco, tapioca, and yellow mangoes sourced from Davao!

Maxi Mango’s Mango Tapioca is a bottled cold beverage made with fresh milk, small cubes of nata de coco, tapioca, and, of course, yellow mangoes. The added nata de coco and tapioca make drinking the Mango Tapioca feel like a combination of eating fruit salad and drinking milk tea at the same time–it’s sweet, milky, fruity, and has sinkers! Miki Arceo-Velasquez, co-owner of Maxi Mango, says, “We wanted to add a “refreshment” side to our menu, so we decided to make more drinks, also its sort of more “on-the-go.”

Similar to Maxi Mango’s mango float, the sweet yellow mangoes used for the Mango Tapioca are also sourced from Davao. The nata de coco, that comes in a vibrant reddish-pink hue, was specially customized for Maxi Mango to be a small rectangular shape to add more chew. Plus, if you shake the bottle of Mango Tapioca, the colorful nata de coco will change the color of the milk into a pretty light shade of pink. Very Instagram-ready!

Maxi Mango’s Mango Tapioca (P65) is only available in Luzon branches. For the full list of Luzon branches, refer to this list.
