The right bread and the right cheese is what makes a good grilled cheese sandwich.
This belief is the reason why at Melt Grilled Cheesery, you can find a variety of golden-brown grilled cheese sandwiches with gooey melted cheese oozing out from the sides.
The latest addition to Melt Grilled Cheesery’s menu is the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich (P485), which we now consider to be a no-brainer order when you dine in the restaurant. The sweet and savory filling of this sandwich is made by braising Angus beef belly strips and reducing its sauce until its flavors are concentrated. The beef strips are grilled together and mixed with sauteed onions, milk, cheese, and the beef concentrate until it comes together, forming the flavorful filling.
The filling is absolutely delicious and worth every bite, but the bread itself is a stunner on its own. Similar to most of Melt Grilled Cheesery’s sandwiches, the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich is held together by sourdough bread slices slathered in butter and toasted until it’s golden-brown and crunchy. The sourdough bread offers the much-needed support for the cheesesteak filling, mustard, and bell peppers without it turning into a soggy mush.
Melt Grilled Cheesery’s Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich is served on top of a bed of camote crisps, the perfect light side to pair with the heftiness of the sandwich. A serving of spiced honey is served on the side, too, if you want a touch of spiciness and sweetness to your sandwich.
If you’re not into sandwiches as much as rice, Melt Grilled Cheesery’s new Angus Roast Beef Belly (P375/regular; P525/large) should be right up your alley. This dish is made with Angus roast beef belly swimming in a savory sauce, served with buttered garlic rice, and a side of salad. It’s similar to a Pinoy bistek, but the choice of using Angus beef belly really sets it apart because of how juicy it is and its tendency to melt in your mouth.
The calories you’ll be consuming at this place is definitely worth every bite.
