This year’s Negros Trade Fair will be held at the Glorietta Activity Center from September 27 to October 1, 2017. This year’s theme is "Food for Thought” and the trade fair will feature various booths where guests can savor, experience, and taste the authentic flavors of Negros Island. Unlike previous years, food booths will occupy most of the space and will highlight the different textures, flavors, and nuances of Negrense food.

Over 70 booths will highlight food products, delicacies, and accessories made by artisans and social enterprises based in the Negros region. What started as an answer to the sugar crisis in the 1980s, the Negros Trade Fair was meant to help families who lost their farms when sugar prices dropped in the ‘80s. Fifteen Negrense women — housewives of hacienderos—learned how to make handicrafts and sell food products. Some of the exhibitors over the years have become successful exporters.
Held annually since 1985, the trade fair is now on its 32nd year and is the country’s longest-running trade fair.
