Try This Strawberry Shortcake From This Japanese Grocery + Restaurant
It's only P145 per slice!
New Hatchin is a Japanese grocery that has a few branches around the Metro. The newly-opened New Hatchin branch along Katipunan Avenue isn't just a grocery, but it is also a restaurant-also known as a grocerant.

Half of the newly-opened New Hatchin's space is the restaurant, which offers Japanese curry, sushi, ramen, and side dishes, like takoyaki and gyoza. What we loved most about the restaurant in New Hatchin? The fluffy cakes in their patisserie, Bebe Rouge!

We tried out their Strawberry Shortcake (P145/slice) which is made with a light and fluffy chiffon cake with cream in between that has a melt-in-your-mouth sweetness. If you're a big strawberry fan, there are also thin slices of strawberries mingling with the sweet cream. Make sure to save the best for last: there is also a juicy, sweet, tart strawberry half on top of each slice of the Strawberry Shortcake.

If you're dining with a friend, you can order another cake from Bebe Rouge. They also offer Souffle Cheese Cake (P150/slice), Matcha Shortcake (P145/slice), and the Vanilla Mille Crepe (P130).

We paired this with Bebe Rouge's iced Matcha Latte (P160) which has a sweet milky flavor with hints of matcha and surprisingly, it's also a bit fruity! If you're not to keen on the flavor of matcha, you can opt for Bebe Rouge's other latte drinks, or coffee, iced tea, beer, cocktail, wine, whiskey, and sake.
