Find Frozen Matcha S’mores + Delicious Green Tea Drinks At This New BGC Café
We bet it will be your new hangout for healthy food, too.
Frozen s’mores aren’t an entirely new thing (thanks to Cronut creator, Dominique Ansel, who also sells this Instagram-friendly confection at his various bakeries). But at Nomi Matcha Café, one of the newest cafes to open in BGC, Taguig, frozen s’mores get a delicious green tea upgrade: there's matcha ice cream inside the white marshmallow block. The s’mores gets torched at your table until the marshmallow is melty and tinged with a light golden burnt color, coating the frozen ice cream in a sweet sugary cloud. It’s off the menu, but ask for it, and they’ll gladly serve this sweet treat.

If frozen s’mores and green tea aren’t your thing, Nomi has power-packed rice bowls, classic Japanese food items such as Gyudon and Karaage (Japanese fried chicken), and small bites such as croissant sandwiches. It would be a shame not to try their green tea drinks, though. One of the partners, Také Hosomi, whose family hails from Kyoto, Japan sources the matcha used at Nomi—straight from matcha farms in Kyoto, Japan.

“We’re all about good food and good vibes,” shares Nomi co-owner Michael Jiang. “We want Nomi to be where you get power-packed dishes made with super foods and where you can fuel your body, but also fuel your soul, be creative, work, and just feel good.”

The current soft opening menu is already a packed one, with several green tea drinks, low-fat smoothies, and coffee-blended drinks. Their other desserts apart from off-the-menu Frozen S’mores should be on your must-try list, too. Don’t miss the crowd-favorite Cookie Shots and the unassuming Greenies (brownies made with green tea). “We’ll have more food items on the menu in the coming weeks,” adds Michael Jiang, giving us more reasons to try one more dessert and new dishes with feel-good flavors.
Nomi Matcha Cafe is at the W Center, 30th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
