Philippine mangoes, bananas, pineapples, coconut, tuna, coffee and cacao-these are the country's "premium 7", the top products we currently export to other countries. In this year's International Food Exhibition (IFEX) Philippines dubbed "NXTFood Asia" to be held at the World Trade Center Metro Manila from May 24-26, 2019, the "Premium 7" will be showcased along with the "rising stars" of Philippine food.

We're not surprised our mangoes are one of the Premium 7 food items for export.

"The next rising stars of Philippine food include calamansi (Philippine lime), pili nuts, ube (purple yam), and fruit and vegetable-based beverages. This year's show is also our way of inviting buyers and visitors to experience Filipino hospitality at its finest," shared DTI-CITEM Executive Director Pauline Suaco-Juan. IFEX Philippines is the country's biggest business-to-business (B2B) event for Asian food and ingredients organized by the Philippines' Department of Trade and Industry through the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (DTI-CITEM).

While IFEX Philippines is primarily a trade show, it is also open to the general public. This year, an exhibit called "Islands on a Plate" will feature a unique food tasting experience with a fiesta setting, and people can try delicacies from various regions and how the Premium 7-mangoes, bananas, pineapples, coconut, tuna, coffee and cacao-may be used in delicious, creative ways.

The The Cold Room: Seafood at Sub-Zero exhibit will allow visitors to sample our local tuna.

"We're also very excited to debut 'The Cold Room: Seafood at Sub-Zero,' an innovative exhibit designed to feature various Philippine seafood like tuna, prawns, octopus, seaweed and other high-value marine food products in an actual cold storage facility open to the guests," Suaco-Juan shared. Buyers and visitors will have the chance to taste and sample our fresh sashimi, ceviche and shrimp cocktails.

IFEX will be held at Trade Center Metro Manila (WTCMM) on May 24-26, 2019. Visit to sign up for the event or see more event details.
