PRICE ALERT: Aim To Make Bangus or Tilapia Dishes This Week

You'll be excited to learn that there were more price decreases this week than there were price increases. Fish in particular dropped to better prices, including bangus or milkfish from P180 to P150 per kilo and tilapia from P140 to P130 per kilo.
Fish weren't the only food at the palengke that saw price decreases.
Here are all the food that had a price decrease this past week:

Unfortunately, there were some food that saw a rise in price, too. Thankfully, only a few were affected which include tomatoes or kamatis which went up P20 to end at P100 per kilo this week.

If you get dismayed by the changing of prices every week, we have news for you: we do, too. That's why every week along with the Price Alert cheat sheets, we offer you some great budget-friendly advice on how best to manage your finances when it comes to shopping and cooking your meals.
Yummy Tipid Tip #1: Buy marble potatoes instead.

Just in case you're curious about how to get a better deal when it comes to patatas or potatoes, grab marble potatoes instead. At SM Hypermarket, we found marble potatoes going for P122 per kilo. This was half as much as regular-sized potatoes priced at P228 per kilo. The big change in prepping these potatoes is learning how to peel these. However, you actually don't need to peel potatoes! Plus, these are small enough that you don't even need to cut them up unless you want small potato pieces in your dish.
Yummy Tipid Tip #2: Make round fries, not stick fries.

Since you have round potatoes that are hard to make into long sticks for traditional fries, why not make roasted baked potatoes instead? Prepare the potatoes like you normally would but instead of frying, toss them in a little oil and place a tray of these balls into your oven or even the air fryer! You can also use these potatoes for potato salad, too!
The Price Alert prices are based on the Department of Agriculture's price monitoring reports which are sourced and gathered from markets in these areas around the metro: Commonwealth, Guadalupe, Las Piñas, Malabon, Marikina, Mega Q-Mart, Muntinlupa, Muñoz, Pasay, Pasig, Pritil, Quinta, and San Andres.
