PRICE ALERT: The Price Of This Fish Just Dropped!

This fried fish meal is affordable again!

Prices at the palengke are prone to change every week! The most affordable fish today may not always be the same one tomorrow or the next day. That's what makes shopping for your ulam meals a struggle when you're balancing a budget, so you should take notice when there's a drop in prices. 

The humble galunggong no longer exceeds more than P200 a kilo as it has in previous weeks. This week, it dropped to the more affordable P180/kilo. Note that this is the price of imported galunggong that was approved by the Department of Agriculture last January. 

Nonetheless, this drop in price is a boon for us home cooks with a strict budget! If you're scrimping by waiting for the end of the month, you should pair the galunggong with a quick side dish made of sayote and sitaw. Both vegetables have also dropped their prices to more affordable ones, too.
