These Ready-To-Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies Are Made With Pili Nuts

Though nuts in chocolate chip cookies are no new thing, the use of Pili nuts in this case, give the warm, buttery cookie base and chocolate chunks a comforting local flavor. These nuts are a particularly popular snack in Bicol, so if you've ever¬†taken a trip to the region¬†or are originally from there, these munchies may just remind you of¬†your last visit. Pili nuts are known for their light flavor, reminiscent of sunflower seeds. When roasted, they take on a slightly chewier texture, creating a melt-in-your-mouth feel.
