What's Inside San Miguel President Ramon Ang's Gigantic Freezer At Home?
He let us in on his favorite San Miguel food products.
Have you always wondered what Ramon See Ang (also known as RSA), the chief executive officer of San Miguel Corporation, has in the kitchen? In an interview with Summit Media journalists, he shared with Yummy.ph all the products you can find in his refrigerator.
Ang has a sweet spot for all the products under the San Miguel Corporation, but he first mentioned that he loves drinking beer, which comes as no surprise as San Miguel Brewery and Ginebra San Miguel are both under the corporation. He says, "Actually, ang paborito ko beer."
When further asked about food, Ang shared that he has a ginormous refrigerator at home, and in it, you can always find his favorite pack of San Miguel ready-to-eat corned beef. "Yung isang kilo ng fresh corned beef na malabot. Nako, ka-sarap!"
Under San Miguel Food, there's Chef's Selection Fresh Corned Beef (P325/500 grams and P680/900 grams) which is a fully-cooked beef brisket marinated with spices and seasonings. The other type of corned beef is one that needs no introduction: Purefoods Corned Beef, but this one is sold in cans.
Ang also mentioned that he loves other ready-to-eat products like Purefoods Kare-Kare and the Chicken Karaage. He says, "Kapag sinabi ng mga anak ko na kakain kami ng lunch or dinner tapos walang ulam, ilalabas ko na lahat yun [from the freezer]."
Just in case you didn't know or you haven't tried it, one of the gamechangers during this pandemic is Purefoods' heat-and-eat ulam, like the ridiculously delicious Kare-Kare (P290/450grams) which is made with fully-cooked beef shanks and ox tripe stewed in a creamy peanut sauce. All you have to do is heat it in a pan, add as many vegetables as you want or none at all, and serve it with a lot of rice and a lot of bagoong.
As for the chicken karaage, there are two brands under SMC. There's the Purefoods Chicken Karaage that's made with a fully-cooked seasoned chicken thigh fillet that's coated with crispy breading, while the other is a heat-and-eat Chicken Karaage is under the Cook Express brand. This is made with fully-cooked breaded, battered, and then fried boneless chicken chunks, seasoned with a Japanese-style marinade.
If you haven't tried any of these heat-and-eat products, you can shop for all of them via San Miguel Food's official website.
Ramon See Ang is the chief executive officer of San Miguel Corporation which handles food brands like Magnolia, Monterey, Pure Foods, La Pacita, San Mig Super Coffee, Great Food Solutions, B-Meg, and San Miguel Mills.
