René Redzepi Names Dishwasher Co-Owner at Top Restaurant Noma
Ali Sonko has been Noma's dishwasher for over a decade.

According to Danish newspaper, Berlingske, Noma chef and owner René Redzepi, has named Ali Sonko, their dishwasher of 13 years, co-owner of the restaurant, along with several other members of his staff.
"Ali is the heart and soul of Noma. I don't think people appreciate what it means to have a person like Ali in the house. He is all smiles, no matter how his twelve children fare. And, by the way, my own father was also named Ali, and he too worked as a dishwasher when he came to Denmark," Redzepi announced.
In late February, Noma closed its doors at its original location since it set up shop in 2003 to make way for a new location projected to open in late 2017.
Noma 2.0 will have a new layout of ten small cottage-like buildings surrounding a central building, a new location in the Copenhagen harbor area, and, for Sonko, no more dishes to wash.
Noma has been awarded the Best Restaurant in the World for three years, from 2010 to 2012.
