Living in a condominium comes with its sets of challenges and for most condo dwellers, the no-stove rule is a major struggle.

This is exactly Robert and Bianca Patenia's current living situation as they are not allowed to use a stove inside their condominium unit. But instead of solely relying on food deliveries and dining out pre-pandemic, the couple conquered this stumbling block and found different ways to still enjoy homemade meals even without a stove.

The couple shares recipes and hacks on their Instagram account, Condo Cooks, featuring dishes they make using their two trusty condominium-approved kitchen appliances: a multi-function rice cooker and a toaster

Although they can't fry using their multifunctional rice cooker, they use it to make shabu-shabu or hot pot. Robert and Bianca then thought of using the rice cooker to make soups and stews, too. A few of the rice cooker-friendly dishes they were able to cook include Japanese curry, salmon sinigang, a deconstructed version of sukiyaki, and the kimchi-jiggae (kimchi stew).

The couple discovered the vast potential of their toaster when Bianca's mother lent the couple small Pyrex containers and baked banana bread and made egg breakfast cups. They were also able to cook a "Franks and Carbs" dish, a combination of sausages and roasted baby potatoes, with the help of the toaster.

If you live in a condominium, too, here are Condo Cook's rice cooker- and toaster-friendly recipes you should check out:
