Benguet Farmers Forced To Sell Sayote For P2 Per Kilo Because Of Oversupply

The average market price for sayote is P30 per kilo.

The price of sayote has reportedly dropped due to oversupply. According to Tagani Philippinessayote harvested by farmers from Benguet are being bought at a measly amount of P2 per kilo. Tagani Philippines is a digital agriculture startup that empowers Filipino farmers and agribusiness entrepreneurs. 

On their official Facebook page, they shared a photo of piles upon piles of sayote with the caption stating, "There is an OVERSUPPLY of sayote in Benguet. They are currently being bought at P2/kg by middlemen. The farmers still have TONS of sayote to harvest." 


Tagani Philippines is encouraging everyone to buy sayote for the average price of P180 per 10 kilograms and if there is an interest to order in bulk, one can contact TMGS at 09059691837.
