Starbucks' New Mugs Highlight Philippines' Critically Endangered Animals
These are available starting today, February 24.
Starbucks Phillippines launched a new merchandise collection called the Philippine Wildlife Collection. This collection includes mugs and their fluffy Bearista Bears and highlights the Philippines' most endangered species: Negros Bleeding-Heart Bird, Tamaraw, and the Palawan Forest Turtle.
The Negros Bleeding-heart Bird is a critically endangered species you can find in the islands of Negros and Panay and it's known for its orange stripe found across its chest. Starbucks created a 12oz ceramic mug (P795) and the Bearista Bear (P1,595) that reimagines the orange stripe as the bird's heart.
The Tamaraw is also a critically endangered animal and is known to be the world's rarest and most endangered buffalo species you can find on the island of Mindoro. Starbucks also features the tamaraw through an emerald green 12-ounce Ceramic Mug (P795) and a Bearista Bear (P1,595) dressed up as the tamaraw.
The third species in the collection is the Palawan Forest Turtle, a critically endangered species you can find on the island of Palawan. Starbucks also has a 12oz Ceramic Mug (P795) and a Bearista Bear (P1,595) featuring this reptile.
The Philippine Wildlife collection is now available in all Starbucks stores and Lazada.
For every purchase of the mug or the Bearista Bear from February 23 to April 19, Starbucks will be donating P50 to the WWF-Philippines' conservation initiatives.
