Starbucks Philippines Temporarily Pauses Operations In Luzon
Their Visayas and Mindanao branches will remain open.
Starbucks Philippines has officially announced that they will be temporarily pausing the operations of all of their Luzon branches in line with the enhanced community quarantine that was imposed by Malacañang yesterday, March 16, 2020.
They clarified, however, that their Visayas and Mindanao branches will remain open.
Yesterday, March 16, Malacañang announced that they are officially putting the island of Luzon in an enhanced community quarantine to contain the spread of COVID-19. During this time, public movement shall be limited as people should just stay at home and leave only when necessary, like when buying food and medicine.
President Rodrigo Duterte addressed the nation and explained: "Upon further study of worldwide trends and measures and the need for extreme caution during such time like this, I have come to the conclusion that stricter measures are necessary. Pursuant to my power as President and Republic Act 11332, I am placing the main land of Luzon under quarantine until April 12, 2020 coinciding with the entire end of the Holy week."
