After the sticker-collecting season at Starbucks, we can all go back to regular programming at Starbucks and that includes discovering their new drinks, new food every month or so. This February, the month that marks the start of spring or the cherry blossom season, the coffee chain is introducing a new macchiato Cocoa Cloud Macchiato. Plus, we can expect the return of two other beverages: Salted Caramel Frappuccino and the Salted Caramel Cloud Macchiato.
The new Cocoa Cloud Macchiato (P180/Tall, P195/Grande, P210/Venti) is an ombre drink made with a cloud of fluffy foam with cascading espresso that has a touch of vanilla. To give it an extra touch of sweetness, it’s drizzled with cocoa sauce.
As for the returning beverages, the Salted Caramel Cloud Macchiato (P190/Tall, P195/Grande, P210/Venti) is very similar to the Cocoa Cloud Macchiato. The only difference is that instead of vanilla and the cocoa drizzle used for the Cocoa Cloud Macchiato, the Salted Caramel Cloud Macchiato uses a salted caramel syrup and caramel drizzle.
If you want your drink colder than the iced version, the Salted Caramel Frappucino (P185/Tall, P200/Grande, P215/Venti) is the perfect way to beat the Philippine heat! This drink blends together coffee, milk, and ice before it’s topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle. But if you want to stick with your go-to Starbucks Frappucino, you can customize your drink and add the new Creamy Vanilla Whipped Cream (P20) as an add-on instead.
Both kinds of macchiatos are available as either hot or iced drinks.
New Starbucks Food Items
The new cakes are a Cherry Blossom Crepe Cake (P205/slice, P1,640/whole) which is made with layers of paper-thin crepes alternating with sweet and floral berry cream filling and the Mango Passion Cheesecake (P265/slice, P2,650/whole) that gives the regular cheesecake a touch of tang with the added mango and passion fruit coulis.
If you want something more on-the-go, you can opt for pastries to pair with your Starbucks drink! Try the new Sakura Donut (P60) which is a ring donut with a pink chocolate glaze or the Chocolate Cupcake (P140), a moist cake topped with chocolate cream, chocolate ganache, and cacao nibs.
The other pastries you’ll notice at Starbucks starting this February are the return of the Napoleones (P105) and plant-based pastries like the Jamaican Patty (P115) and Meatless Shawarma with Falafel (P175).
