With the rising confirmed cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Philippines, malls—like SM Supermalls—and food establishments are applying stricter precautionary measures to ensure the safety of everyone, including the employees.
For those who get their coffee fix at Starbucks, all Starbucks (including Starbucks Reserve) branches are temporarily “pausing” the use of personal cups, tumblers, and “for here” ware, like plates and utensils for dine-in transactions. In the meantime, eco-conscious Starbucks customers will have to settle for disposable cups, spoons, forks, and containers provided by the store, but if you do show your cup or tumbler when you purchase your drink, you can still get the P5 discount.
Starbucks has also implemented additional cleaning and sanitizing procedures in stores. Starbucks Philippines’ official Facebook page shares, “We are committed to caring for the health and well-being of our partners (employees) and customers as we take precautionary steps to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.”
