Steak is a passion of Sandy Tiaoqui for 35 years and counting. Primo, his Davao-based restaurant, and Steak.ph, his latest food-venture which delivers US-bred, US-graded Angus steaks around Metro Manila, are the fruits of his tender love for these tender meat.
To the uninitiated, the Angus steak can look like any other steak–which gives their premium meat an absolute injustice. Steak.ph gets their Angus steak from Harris Ranch, a strict ranching institution in California. Sandy shares that this natural ribeye steak comes from sustainably-raised, grass-fed cattle. You can tell it is of superior quality because of the gorgeous marbling each cut of steak has! This marbling is caused by the streaks of fat in between the sections of meat.
Steak.ph’s US Angus steaks are already packed with flavor that a simple, no-fuss recipe is all it needs. If desired, add an equally simple sauce or gravy to take it up a notch. Sandy shares that his favorite way to cook these steaks is to simply season each side with salt and pepper and then cook them on a charcoal grill. If you’re under time constraints, you can opt to cook it on a cast-iron pan with cloves of garlic. According to Sandy, the pan will catch all the steak's juices that you can then fry your rice with.
