This Unique Tiramisu Is Topped With Fresh Baguio Strawberries!

The classic tiramisu is a coffee-flavored Italian dessert, typically made with ladyfingers dipped in coffee, whipped mascarpone cheese, sugar, and egg, then dusted with cocoa powder. But this dessert has come a long way from being the classic one that we know and Bellefleur's new Strawberry Misu, a strawberry-flavored tiramisu, is a great example of how out-of-the-box can also be delicious, no matter how much of a purist you are.

Bellefleur's Strawberry Misu is made with fresh strawberries, with layers of milk-soaked broas or ladyfingers (better than tres leches because they use four types of milk: condensed milk, evaporated milk, fresh milk, and cream), strawberry mascarpone cream, and white chocolate crunch chunks in the middle layer. According to Bea Atienza, the owner of Bellefleur by Beatrix, she wanted to use Baguio strawberries because of its natural sweetness.

This cake is meant to be scooped from the container, similar to tin can cakes and ice cream cakes.

This is the third flavor from Bellefleur's tiramisu series. The first one was the Ube Misu, which made sense for Bellefleur given their other famous ube desserts like the Double Decker Ube Leche FlanThe second was the Milk Tea Misu and the third was the Mango MisuThe Strawberry Misu was specifically created and released to celebrate Chinese New Year because the Chinese love the color red and it is a color known to attract good luck and wealth.

It's like the cake version of the strawberry + evaporated milk!

Baguio is popular for its strawberries, which makes Bellefleur's Strawberry Misu an instant favorite for strawberry fans. It is sweet and tart, plus the mascarpone cream and super milky broas mellow the flavor down into something more creamy and milky. You can liken its flavor with strawberry shortcakes and the ultimate, simple combination of strawberries with condensed milk or evaporated milk is a classic pairing.

Another thing we love about the Strawberry Misu, and the tiramisu series in general, is the white chocolate crunch in the middle layer. It's not cloyingly sweet and the crunch is probably the only prominent yet different texture you'll get from it.
