When in Tagaytay and looking for a hot meal, one always thinks of bulalo. But if you're in the area and you want to try something different, you should drop by a nearby hidden gem called Surugin Ramen House.

Surugin Ramen House is a Japanese restaurant located in Alfonso, Cavite. Its name comes from the rough pronunciation of the word "Sulugin", the barangay in Alfonso, Cavite where the ramen house is located.

The place looks like a rustic Japanese ramen house hidden in a garden. They offer different kinds of ramen like the Hakata Ramen (tonkotsu broth), Usukuchi Ramen (shoyu base) Odori Ramen (miso base), Tsurai Ramen (spicy miso), Katsu Curry Ramen, and Gyoza. If you want a rice bowl, they have Katsudon, Oyakudon, and the new Katsukare Rice, too.

The price range of Surugin Ramen House is more affordable than the ramen houses in Metro Manila. Depending on the ramen you buy, it will only cost you P170 to P270 per bowl of ramen-not bad considering the noodles are homemade! As for the donburi, it only costs P170-P190 per bowl.

Are they open during MECQ? Yes! Surugin Ramen House is open for al fresco dining for customers aged 18 to 65 years old. All customers should be wearing a face mask, face shield, and practice social distancing.
