There’s no question that Filipinos love their meat. In fact, a lot of the Philippines’ most popular dishes are purely protein, like crispy pata and lechon. They’re so loved here that a party isn’t complete without either of them. Recently, online food encyclopedia Taste Atlas counted the two dishes among the World’s Top 100 Dishes for 2019.
Along with crispy pata and lechon, kare-kare was also nominated as one of the world’s best dishes in 2019. All-time favorites like sushi, mac and cheese, Peking duck, and xiao long bao, are also on the list.
Taste Atlas is the world’s first global food map and directory, which compiles reviews from professional food critics and local experts and provides information on traditional dishes and recipes, as well as local ingredients.
