Tasty Treats at TriNoma’s Food Crawl

We went with 10 bloggers around TriNoma for the first ever TriNoma Food Crawl!

Last November 6, ten of the metro's well-known food and lifestyle bloggers spent an afternoon tasting the best dishes from TriNoma’s premiere restaurants for the very first #TriNomaFoodCrawl.

Brought together by their shared passion in the innovation, creativity, and experience of food, all 10 bloggers came to taste two signature dishes from each of TriNoma’s featured restaurants. Among these bloggers were Seph Cham of josephcham.com, Jill Bantang and Oliver Tan of TheFoodScout, Eugene Constantino from HeftyFoodie, Gerry San Miguel from Dude4Food, Peachy Adarne from ThePeachKitchen, Stacy Liong from TsinoyFoodies, Berylle Hong from ItsBeryllicious, Sumi Go from ThePurpleDoll, Edgie and Margarette Polistico from PinoyFoodIllustrated, and Joan Lim from FoodAlphabet.

Co-presented by Yummy Magazine and Yummy.ph, the #TriNomaFoodCrawl, hosted by the very enthusiastic DJ Suzy of Magic 89.9, took the crew on a gastronomic trip through the mall with a menu carefully curated by TriNoma with the help of Yummy to please everyone’s tummy.

1. Ginza Bairin

Their first stop is Ginza Bairin with managing director Jimmy Tan and marketing director Monche Herce leading the way. They featured an incredibly tasty Rosu Katsu Curry, a dish with perfectly crisp pork loin in a flavor-packed curry, and their best-selling Special Katsudon. Every component of this dish worked harmoniously well together -- from the tender pork, to the fragrant and perfectly fluffed rice, to the well-seasoned sauce of broth. A runny egg lies on top of it all to glaze the rice and pork with yolk -- a tradition that's still widely practiced in Japan.

2. Hanamaruken Ramen

Next on the list is Hanamaruken Ramen where they were welcomed by PR director Oya Olalia. They served their Signature Happiness Ramen, a slow-braised soft bone pork rib in an extremely aromatic shoyu tonkotsu broth. Meanwhile, the Drunk Man Rice Bowl, which the resto claimed as the perfect hangover dish, is made of tender kakuni chunks, fried eggs, negi, chili, and a delicious braising sauce.

3. Mango Tree Bistro

Thai cuisine was the order of the day for Mango Tree Bistro where the crew was greeted by marketing officer Betsy Esguerra. Their Gai Tha Krai Yang, a grilled herb lemongrass chicken, served with a Northeastern Thai dipping sauce, burst with robust flavors and was cooked perfectly tender. The second dish was the Grapow Moo, a dish of stir-fried pork with garlic, chilies, and basil -- also a staple in Thai cuisine.

4. Wee Nam Kee

Next, the foodie crew visited the Singaporean resto, Wee Nam Kee. Their Salted Egg Chinese Style Fried Chicken is unique with its rich and bold textures. One of their newest and very innovative dishes, the Hainanese Chicken Curry Noodles, featured a lovely broth mixed in with a spiced curry.

5. Pearl River Cafe

The group ended with a mini dimsum party at the Pearl River Cafe. The bloggers were served with some moist and juicy Steamed Crab Roe and Shrimp Shaomai, and some lovely Steamed Buns with Custard Paste and Salted Egg which looks as good as it tastes. It was a perfect ending to the whole food trip.

It is these shared moments that will make you realize that everything else that comes with the food-- like the people and places— can create an unforgettable experience. TriNoma’s Food Crawl was definitely one for the books! Check out photos and #YummyAlert updates on the #TriNomaFoodCrawl through TriNoma's Instagram account: @ilovetrinoma.
