The Festive Puto Bumbong Meets The Fluffy Taisan In This New Loaf Cake
This is not your typical puto bumbong treat.
We all know that as soon as the clock strikes midnight on the last day of August, it's unofficially the start of the Christmas season in the Philippines. Besides the usual Jose Mari Chan and Mariah Carey holiday tracks we all anticipate during the 'ber months, one of the biggest things we always look forward to are all the festive holiday food. If you want to get a headstart and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year, The Creamery Catering has a Puto Bumbong Taisan Loaf (P235) you'll want to try ASAP.
Puto bumbong is a kakanin made with glutinous rice, commonly slathered in generous amounts of butter, topped with grated coconut and muscovado sugar. The Creamery Catering's transforms this festive kakanin into a fluffy taisan loaf by using a purple-hued chiffon cake, the sides frosted with a layer of luscious buttercream, and a sprinkle of muscovado sugar and shredded coconut on top.
The Puto Bumbong Taisan is part of The Creamery Catering's Taisan series. If you love the sweet and earthy ube, you should try the Ube Taisan Loaf (P185), while another holiday flavor they have is the Quezo de Bola Taisan Loaf (P260). You should try this flavor if you love the sharp, cheesy taste of Edam cheese.
