This Food Hall Gives You Delicious Reasons To Keep Coming Back

These days, food halls are giving customers more reasons to eat out. Unlike generic food courts of the past, the newer food halls in Metro Manila offered more than just food. The Grid at the Powerplant Mall, which opened in July 2018, put a high-end spin to the dining concept and offered several things other food halls didn't have: stalls that peddled dishes from some of Manila's best chefs and restaurateurs, a space that doubled as a gathering place when you're done with shopping errands, and happy hour (yes, they serve cocktails!).

A year after it first opened, The Grid's tenants have changed a bit and made way for the new kids on the food block. The best way to try everything at The Grid? Rounding up a few friends and trying new plates from each of these stalls:

Beefier

The burgers are always a good option but the new items on the menu are as satisfying, too: the Hanger steak (P680) is great for sharing and you get perfectly cooked USDA meat coupled with fries (or rice), gravy, and arugula salad. If you're a fan of corned beef, go for the Reuben (P490), a hefty sandwich with corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, all on buttered sourdough.

Love avocado? Add it to your lobster rolls for only P75.

Bun Appetit

If you love succulent seafood, Bun Appetit will indulge your craving. They serve lobster, shrimp, and crab rolls but now you have them with avocado for an additional P75.

La Chinesca

It may have been your mission to try every taco on the La Chinesca menu but if you're game for new flavors, their off-menu items won't disappoint. The Crab Infladita (P280) encloses crab and earthy, nutty flavors in an inflated tortilla while the Enchilada Verde (P250) is a serving of fresh flavors, thanks to the salsa fresca and the bright notes of cilantro.

Gochu-Gang

If you're hankering for Korean food, head to Gochu-gang and sample the spicy and bold-flavored plates of chef Patrick Go (Black Sheep). They also have weekday lunch specials which include chicken kalbi and kimchi rice with egg (P270).
