You Can Buy More Vegetables Straight From The Farmers This Weekend
The veggie drop-off has a new location in Quezon City!
Last weekend, The Veggie Drop-Off held their second weekend market at the Old Manila Eco Market site at Luneta, Manila and at the Quezon City Memorial Circle where thousands of patient customers waited in line to score fairly-priced fresh produce from Filipino farmers. On March 13 to 15, 2020, they're holding yet another weekend market: The Veggie Drop-Off 3x3.
The Veggie Drop-Off 3 x 3 event has expanded its venues, from its previous locations at Old Manila Eco Market of Luneta, Manila and Quezon Memorial Circle, plus they're adding a new venue: The Sunday Market at The Pop Up Katipunan.
As of March 12, The Veggie Drop-Off is pushing through with the drop-off at Luneta and The Sunday Market at The Pop Up Katipunan, but in light of the COVID-19, the Department of Health has canceled the one at Quezon Memorial Circle.
If you missed the last two weekend markets from The Veggie Drop-Off, the one located at the Old Manila Eco Market site of Luneta is scheduled on March 13 and 14, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the produce will come from The Farmers of Bauko, Mountain Province; while the schedule for The Sunday Market at The Pop Up Katipunan is scheduled on March 14 and 15, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the produce will come from The Bayanihan Cordillera group of farmers from Tinoc, Ifugao.
Based on the previous weekend markets, customers are requested to be patient because these events are only manned by kind-hearted volunteers. Volunteers and donations (weighing scales, rope, markers, Manila paper, canvass, trolleys, crates, and baskets) are very much welcome.
Everyone is also encouraged to practice #BYOB: Bring Your Own Bag to reduce waste and also because paper bags will NOT be freely provided.
